Our Story: From Grandma’s Hands to Your Holiday Table

Back in 1987, Yiannis and his wife opened a tiny taverna on Platonos Street with one simple rule: cook for guests exactly what we cook for our family. Nearly four decades later, Grandma Maria still arrives before dawn to prep fresh vine leaves, season today’s fish haul and taste every sauce. Nothing leaves the kitchen without her nod of approval.

38 Years, One Family, Endless Greek Hospitality

The recipe for success is unchanged—market-fresh ingredients, slow cooking and a generous spirit. Travellers who first discovered us as backpackers now return with their own children; that’s the loyalty warm plates and warmer smiles can earn.

Our Philosophy

Home-Made, Every Day. Nothing frozen, nothing reheated—just produce from Rhodes farmers and Aegean fishermen.
Island Hospitality. Expect a warm welcome, a little playful humour from Yiannis and often a surprise meze “on the house.”
Generosity. Big plates, small prices, because good food should leave both heart and wallet full.

Hidden gem in a little street of old town run by a lovely family with a real, home-made food cooked by chef Yannis. We found it on our first night in Rhodes and kept coming here every single night! All the dishes, whether you choose a fresh fish, moussaka, stuffed peppers or souvlaku tastes amazing! 😁

Just by chance we discovered this (today 11th Jul 24) lovely traditional Greek Restaurant in the Old town of Rhodes. After the hustle n bustle of the square which was manic, on one of the side streets we found Yiannes. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced compared to most in the town. The service was lovely and I would highly recommend anybody visiting the Old town of Rhodes to go and visit you won't be disappointed 😀
